Nova Rotors progressing cavity pumps are used in numerous applications due to their ability to handle a wide range of liquids, including those with high viscosities, solids and abrasives with steady, pulse free, low shear flow.
Typical applications include:-
Oil and Gas Industry
In order to meet the requirements of the oil and gas industry, Nova Rotors have a rugged range of API 676 pumps and their pumping characteristics makes them ideal for oil/water separation, viscous crude oil transfer and sand contaminated applications. The range also includes multiphase designs to handle both high gas or liquid content making them a popular choice for the most demanding multiphase boosting and transfer applications.
The hopper designs are widely applied for handling sludge, drilling mud and cuttings duties, whilst the vertical ranges are applied on low NPSHA, tank emptying and contaminated drains duties.
Biogas Industry
The biomass used in these plants derives from specially crops or waste products and process waste and very often contain foreign matter and solids that cause problems for other pump types. For this reason, our Nova Rotors progressive cavity pumps are a rugged, reliable solution that guarantees minimal downtime and higher output levels at modest cost, vital to the cost effectiveness of these biogas plants.
Both the flanged and hopper designs are typically used on liquid manure transfer and injection, feed pumps from the biomass tanks to the digester and subsequent fermented product transfer as well as liquid and partially dried sludge from presses.
Food, Drink and other Sanitary Industries
With their gentle, low shear pumping characteristic and the ability to handle solids and high viscosities, Nova Rotors pumps are used in numerous food, drink and other sanitary processes and particularly wine production.
Nova Rotors have a range of EHEDG and 3A standard designs for sanitary and hygienic applications throughout the food, pharmaceutical, chemical and cosmetic industry. The pumps are designed for "Clean/Sterilise in Place" and allow complete draining and eliminate dead space and can be supplied with all non-wetted parts also in stainless steel construction.
Paper Production
Nova Rotors pumps have been extensively applied throughout the paper production cycle, from the transfer of pulp, to the transportation of waste water from the various forming and coating processes, to the subsequent purification treatment. This is thanks to their ability to proved efficient, low cost equipment capable of handling the treatment sludge, which has a high percentage of solids content that increases during the various treatment stages and which tends to plasticize and has adhesive properties.
With a range of hopper pump designs incorporating auger screws and bridge breakers, Nova Rotors have proven experience of handling even the most fibrous, viscous and blocking materials.
Waste & Sludge Treatment
Waste handling and purification processes inevitably give rise to a requirement for handling contaminated liquids and sludges. Nova Rotors pumps are applied throughout these processes which aim to reduce the moisture content of the sludge by a process of thickening and densification in order to generate a dry material that is easier to store and use.
With extensive experience in supplying both flanged, hopper and vertical Nova Rotors pumps throughout these systems, Nova Rotors enjoy working with customers to provide or develope pumping solutions to meet their particular requirements.
